New walking bridge

Last weekend, took the boys to the State Fair and the next day to the new walking bridge. They had a great time at the fair. The park by the new bridge is really nice. They have a boardwalk around one of the river inlets. The bridge is nice, too.
Yesterday, I met a group from work and did the Race for the Cure. Over 40,000 people were there. It was amazing. I made the 3 mile walk. Felt good about that.

Wonderful Weather

We are enjoying some California weather. I could handle this all winter. Like most of the nation, I was sadden by the lost of Steve Jobs. Some times life is not fair.
An interesting event is going on across the nation. People are gathering to protest on Corporation. For those who don’t understand, watch the documentary, “The Coporation”. It’s is an eye opener.

A Drift

Here’s another underwater photo. This was really fun trying this out. Just wished I had thought about this sooner. It is cooling off here, so I’ll have to wait till next summer. However it is nice having some decent weather for a change. Although there is a Tornado warning to northwest AR. Who knows????

Memory of 911

I was inspire by another photographer with her underwater photos. I tried this out myself. I found it to be difficult especially with the camera I was using. It was fun to do and my ‘model’ enjoyed it too. The camera I was using was Kodak Sport. It was hard to tell when the camera did take the photo. In spite of that, I manage to get some nice photos. A Trunk of Memories

My mom, who is in her 90’s, just finished her second book.
The title is “A Trunk of Memories”. This story is about Ellen, the elephant at our zoo who died this summer. It is a good children’s book about all she did. As she got older, she learned how to paint. When my mom read about Ellen’s death, the words just came to her. I luck out on having photos of Ellen. I had taken my grandson to the zoo to watch her paint. Check out her book at www.blurb.com
